Today’s blog is going to be about how sellers can create discounts on their products through Amazon Seller Central – the interface used by sellers to market and sell their items directly to clients inside the Amazon commercial center as per Amazon marketing company who offers amazon management services. An Amazon Seller Central account is seen as a commercial center or third-party Amazon seller (they are liable for setting up and keeping up their seller account). 

What is Amazon Seller Central? 

Amazon offers both individual and expert seller accounts. While the expert seller accounts require a monthly based membership, most organizations will settle on the expert merchant accounts as it offers investigation devices, special showcasing treatment, and a huge number of different highlights an expert Amazon seller should scale their business. 

You have two choices as a third-party Amazon seller, for satisfying requests that are gotten through the Amazon marketplace: 

  1. Deal with the entirety of the chores of shipping, client support, and returns for the requests yourself or through a third-party logistics provider of your choosing. 
  2. Permit Amazon to deal with this cycle by enrolling in the Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) program.  

Setting up Prime-exclusive discounts:  

Through Amazon Seller Central you can create Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Prime Day, and Prime Exclusive discounts anytime you want. Now, these types of discounts are essentially a 20%+ discount off the selling price, which can be done by these easy steps: 

Note – You need to schedule your discount two weeks before the day of the discount before Amazon closes the window.

  1. Go to the Prime Exclusive Discounts tab where we will then create our discount: 
  1. Click on the “Create Discount” button, once the page loads give it a name, you can customize the date according to your liking, or select the preset discounts dates for Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts. 
  1. After you set up your discounts, upload your products via, the template is an excel sheet that gives you an idea of the price points of the product, you can download it. This is how the template looks:
  1. Fill in the data in the template: 

In the first column, enter the SKU. An Amazon SKU is a unique alphanumeric code used to track a product for inventory and sales purposes. Typically, it includes product attribution details such as size, color, and any other pertinent information that you can glean at a glance. Paste in the SKU for every single variant. You can not paste in the SKU of a parent.  

Enter the discount type in the next column, followed by discount price and finally minimum price, in the next 2 columns. Remember that this is ON TOP of the discount price of the product for Prime Members. 

  1. Download and upload the excel sheet on Amazon Seller Central. 
  1. Click on the “Validate Products” button and review your discounts.

If there are any errors, you can make changes on the Amazon Seller Central website instead of re-editing it on the excel sheet and re-uploading it all over again. 

  1. Submit your discounts (once you have double checked) and you’re good to go! 

Remember for these discounts you need to schedule your discount two weeks before the day of the discount because Amazon closes the window, this is a great way to increase traffic for your products in the Amazon marketplace.
