Overview: This brand was new to Amazon, and they wanted to hire an expert to run a full launch and take it to the next level. These are some things that I’ve found it’s helpful to review upfront so we’re on the same page and to avoid any misunderstandings down the road.

Monthly Retainer
- While many contractors & agencies charge hourly, we’ve found a fixed retainer payment is the best & easiest way to go. The retainer is based on our agency hourly rate, but if there is less or more work done in one month, it doesn’t change.
- If work cannot be done for 14-days or more due to account suspension or other reasons, we will pause the billing period until we can resume.
- If tasks are needed that are beyond the outlined scope of work, we will offer a separate quote for that.
The 3% of sales growth commission
I have always preferred incentivized structures when hiring through the years. So there’s an incentive to GROW your sales as BIG as possible. While other comparable Experts/Gurus/Agencies charge $5,000/mo + 3-10% of total existing sales or PPC spend, we only charge a commission on sales growth. This means there’s no commission if we don’t grow your sales.
- The calculation ****= last months’ sales – ‘starting monthly revenue’ x 0.03.
- ‘Starting monthly revenue’ = your total Amazon sales from the past 3 calendar months before we started, divided by 3, rounded up to the nearest thousand.
Expectations Dealing with Amazon
- We’ve been working with this platform for years, and the one consistent thing is: “things ALWAYS take longer than expected, and there are always issues.” Thus, it requires LOTS of patience to sell on Amazon. Their system often has technical issues. Seller Support can be very slow. Listings get flagged or suspended for seemingly no reason. But don’t worry – this is the norm, and we got your back. So, expect that there WILL be issues, hurdles, and headaches to be dealt with.
- We cannot be held liable for account suspensions or other losses that might occur while working on your account.
- We manage several other accounts and are not a ‘full-time dedicated’ team. Here’s what our launch process looks like!
The FIRST and most important step is getting your first 10+ reviews ASAP. This is because most shoppers do not buy products with 0 or 1 reviews. But how do you get reviews without any sales in the first place? To combat this predicament, savvy Amazon sellers utilize free-after-rebate giveaways to get their first batch of reviews.
The company we associate with for this service is FBAreviews.com. They will handle running a giveaway promotion that will result in 10+ verified reviews within 2-4 weeks.
How it works:
A large network of REAL people in the USA is asked if they’d be interested in trying your products.
If they say yes, they reeive funds to purchase the item on Amazon using a unique URL with your targeted keywords. This helps with ranking.
They order the product for full-price and provide their order confirmation #.
They test the product and share their honest comments to FBA Reviews, which are forwarded to the seller.
Leaving an Amazon review is technically not required, but about 90% of people do.
What makes FBA Reviews different: This is key. Their testers can only use their platform a maximum of 5 times. This greatly reduces they type of shopper that leaves too many reviews, thus get their reviews wiped.

We will activate Amazon PPC Ads after 2 reviews are active, and run it simultaneously with the outside traffic coming in. We will place your products in Sponsored Placement locations for your target keywords. This is known as the tandem-blast ranking method, and it is very effective.
The next step is Amazon PPC ads. Usually, we wait until 1 or 2 reviews are live because most shoppers don’t order products with 0 reviews. Once 2 reviews are live, we are ready to activate PPC campaigns.
Our general rule is to start with a $50-$100/day budget per product.
The basic concept of campaign structure is to separate them into broad/testing, down to highly targeted and highly profitable. This way you can analyze data better.

If you have an email list, you can share your rebate promotion with them. Or, you can share an Amazon coupon code (it must be less than 50% for them to be able to leave a verified review), or no discount at all!
For an Amazon launch, you want a steady stream of sales, not one big blast. So it’s best to segment your audience and send out emails in batches. You can do this using your email marketing software (we use ActiveCampaign).
Social Media Following
Your social media following can also be leveraged to boost Amazon sales. Let them know about new product launches! The goal is to boost sales velocity for newly launched products for the first 30-180 days (the first 30 days being the most important) – so think about how to utilize your following to achieve this. Get creative!
Best Practices
- Stick your Amazon storefront link on your profile.
- Share ongoing promotions for your products on Amazon. Example: post an ‘Amazon sale’ once per month, offering a coupon to use on Amazon. Or, just let them know any time you turn on a clippable coupon on Amazon, or when you put it on sale on Amazon.
- Post about newly launched products on your Instagram story every day for the first 30-60 days, reminding people about your ‘Amazon launch’ deal. It could be a rebate, coupon code, or just a sale price on Amazon.
Tips & Tricks
- Amazon vs Website: When should you direct your social media following to your website vs. Amazon store? Many brands refer people to the Amazon listing for the first 6-12 months to boost ranking & reviews, then refer them to the website listing after your desired Amazon ranking has been achieved.
Add “Check Out on Amazon” to your Website
- Many brands redirect website shoppers to Amazon during the first 6-12 months that a product is on Amazon. With this app you can add a ‘Buy on Amazon’ button to your Shopify product pages – it will redirect to the Amazon listing.
Drive as many sales as you can to your Amazon listing for the first 30-180 days – with the first 30-60 days being the most important.
