How to Get FAST Reviews for Launch – Ultimate Guide
Riley Bennett
Why Do You Need Fast Reviews?
When launching on Amazon, it’s imperative to get your first batch of reviews as soon as possible!
For our clients we aim to get at least 30 reviews in the first 30 days.
This is critical because if you push PPC traffic to your listing with 0 or 1 or 2 reviews, you’ll be wasting money because the conversion rate won’t be decent until you get a handful of good reviews.
Nobody buys a product with 0 or 1 or 2 reviews.
These are our top ways to get reviews FAST, keep them coming in at the highest rate possible, and to get the best reviews possible.

5 Review Hacks Video
Amazon Vine
1. We typically enroll each product in 10, 20 or 30 reviews.
2. Requirements: must have 0-29 reviews, must have FBA inventory in-stock, must be Brand Registered. One campaign per parent ASIN.

Turn on Request A Review Automation
This is the single easiest thing you can do right now to increase your review rate. It’s a relatively new feature. It’s a button inside Seller Central next to each order #. It says ‘Request Review’. You need to click this on each order to send out Amazon’s default review request email to the customer. But luckily softwares can automate this.
Automate this by turning on Request A Review Automation inside JungleScout or Helium 10. It’s a no-brainer proven to increase review rate. Personally I subscribe to both JS and H10 because both have tools that I like and use. They are both great and have most of the same features/tools – choose whichever one you prefer.

Optional: Use Product Tester Sites
If you want more reviews than what you’ll get from VINE, FBAreviews.com is my next go-to. I typically enroll each product in 10, 20 or 30 feedback tests. It’s about $30 per feedback. Note that the tester is not required to leave an Amazon review but around 80% do.

Optional: Use an Insert Card
An insert card helps you do two things: 1) build your email list, and 2) increase review rate.
The best CTA is ‘Scan here for your free product’.
The flow goes like this: CTA —> QR Code —> Landing Page —> Email Opt In —> Gift/Coupon Delivered —> Monthly Email Promotion Drip
One of the goals is to build your email list to 10,000+
You can push people to order on your website (getting SnS on your website is the highest profit margin)
Promote new product launches to the list
A tool that automates this is getreviews.ai (10% off code: L0M580PX)
Here’s my Canva template design so you can copy it.

You can use Getreviews.ai to automate the email capture and review survey. It’s optimized for maximum review-getting!

Ask Existing Happy Customers
a. If you have existing happy customers who left a positive review on other channels, reach out to them and invite them to share their feedback as an Amazon review. Ideally ask if they would write a long detailed ‘love letter’ review, and record a video as well.
Best Questions to Ask Happy Customers
If you are corresponding with a happy customer, you want to get as much feedback out of them as possible. Below is a list of questions that dig deep into their experience. It's these type of questions that a customer ideally talks about in their review. It will be up to your Customer Service person to decide which of these survey questions to ask them. Or, you can make a simple survey form via Google Forms and direct them to that. Depends on how big your company is and how much you want to automate it, or if you prefer to have more 1-1 interactions with your CS team.
Survey Questions for Great Reviews

Get “Love Letter Reviews”
These are long detailed reviews where happy customers share their whole journey with the product, everything they love about the product, why it’s better & different than similar products they’ve tried, and how it literally changed their life. These reviews do wonders for conversion rate!
Ask existing happy customers
Playbook to get testimonials / love letter reviews:
Reach out to existing happy customers or raving fans and ask if they would be open to filling out a survey in exchange for a free product
After they agree, send them the below survey.
Thank them for the survey response. Ask nicely if they would be open to doing a testimonial video, in exchange for a $50 Amazon Gift Card.
After they send you the video, tell them that the gift card has been emailed to them.
Then ask nicely if they would be comfortable sharing their video as a review on Amazon. Explain that it is not required but it would be really appreciated because you recently launched.
Survey questions (customize this to your liking and be sure to ask any specific questions that would make sense for your product)
First and foremost, just share honestly what you like about the product and your experience.
What was the problem you had before discovering the product? (if applicable)
What did the frustration feel like? (if applicable)
What was different about the product compared to similar ones you’ve tried? (mention specific competitor product/brand names if applicable)
Take us through the moment when you realized the product was really solving the problem (if applicable)
Explain what life looks like now that the problem is solved (if applicable)
Explain how you use the product in your daily life
Include an unexpected benefit or thing you enjoyed.
What was one question or concern you had before buying?

Get Video Reviews
Try to have as many video reviews as possible.
Send your product to professional Amazon reviewers. They will post the video to their Amazon Influencer page and the video will show up in the Videos section
What we do for clients: get at least 3 video reviews in the first 30 days.
Types of videos:
Unboxings
Demos / How I use it
Competitor comparison
Short & sweet review (1 - 2 minutes)
Long form deep-dive review (5-20 minutes)

How to get video reviews
Option 1: Video call. If your customer service team is engaging with a super happy customer via Email or DM, you can try inviting them on a 5 minute Zoom call.
"Wow that feedback is amazing! Hey can I ask you a question? Would you be comfortable hoping on a 5-minute Zoom call with me to talk about your experience? Since it's a new product we're just trying to get as much detailed feedback about your experience as possible. We'll send you a free product (or gift card) for your time."
If they say agree, send them your calendar link.
Option 2: Just ask them to answer the survey questions on video.
"Hey would you be comfortable doing a 1 minute testimonial?" [sure1] "OK cool! I'll drop some survery questions below. Most importantly just be honest and natural. Do you think you can send it today? We'll We'll send you a free product (or gift card) for your time."
If they are a video creator, then you can just let them record a natural review in their own style. You can give them the survey questions as guidelines. Basically just let them know to tell their before/after story and mention direct competitors if they genuinely like your product better.
Next step: Ask them to upload their video to Amazon. Make sure that you are not promising the gift card or free product in exchange for the Amazon review. You are offering them a gift in exchange for direct feedback.
Avoid Friends & Family
By now it has probably crossed your mind to have close relatives and friends purchase and leave an Amazon review on your new product. However, this is a closely monitored action by Amazon to prevent any biased reviews on their platform. If Amazon’s algorithm suspects the reviewer is your friend or family, it will either delete the review, not allow them to post, and/or send you a warning email.
Such as the following:
People who have used the same WiFi networks as you.
People/orders with the same account info as you: shipping address, company name, last name, phone number, etc.
The Holy Grail
The Holy Grail is to reach 1000+ reviews and maintain a 4.3+ rating. Then you’ve hit a grand slam & secured what I call “Solidified Amazon Real Estate.”
Your goals for reviews:
Your goal as a brand should be to build up as many genuine, positive reviews / case studies as possible!
Get as many video reviews as possible
Get as many photo reviews as possible
Get as many long, detailed ‘love letter’ reviews as possible
